Put More in, Get More Kid Out! At Healthy Kids Day, the Y is helping bring families and kids together to have fun, be active, learn more and create lasting, healthy habits for the entire family. Learn about Children’s Summer Programs to keep them engaged in active play and learning all summer long!
From 9 a.m. to noon, Southeast Family Y in Huntsville and Hogan Family Y in Madison will have opportunities for kids and families to engage in some healthy play and activities designed to teach safety during out-of-school time.
- The Y Run 5K will begin at 8 a.m. at the Southeast Family YMCA with a Free Fun Run at 9 a.m.
The YMCA Northwest Child Development Center is holding Healthy Kids Day with Open House at its newly renovated building at 4600 Blue Spring Road, Huntsville 35810, adjacent to the Richard Showers Center. There will be free kids’ activities, giveaways, and information about Child Care for ages 6 weeks to 6 years.
A leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the Y holds Healthy Kids Day annually to teach healthy habits and inspire a lifetime love of physical activity through active play. As part of this initiative, the Y – along with hundreds of thousands of parents and kids nationwide – is taking on summer by addressing critical gaps in health and education that cause kids to be at risk for childhood obesity and suffer summer learning loss.
