HOGAN FAMILY YMCA FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. How many games are in the season?
A. There is a total of 8 games, all held on Saturdays.
Q. How many days a week do teams practice?
A. Teams practice once a week, Monday-Thursday.
Q. What is included in the registration?
A. Each child will get a jersey, hat, and medal at the end of the season. Parents will need to provide shorts, socks, and shoes (rubber cleats).
Q. When will we get jerseys?
A. Jerseys will arrive the week of the first game of the season.
Q. Will we have team pictures?
A. Yes. Every season the YMCA hires a photographer to take team pictures.
Q. How will we know practices or games are cancelled?
A. Our Youth & Adult Sports Program Director will contact everybody via email whenever games or practices are cancelled or rescheduled.
Q. Am I guaranteed my preference?
A. In the past, the majority of participants have gotten their preferences. The earlier you register, the higher the chance of you getting your preference. All preferences are considered, none are guaranteed.
Q. Where will the games be held?
A. All games will be held at the Hogan Family YMCA. However, if there are not enough participants in one of the leagues, the 8U league in particular, teams might have to travel to the South East YMCA to play a few of their games.
Q. Who is my coach?
A. All of our coaches are volunteers who have gone through the YMCA’s volunteer screening process. They are willing to step-up as a leader for our youth sports program on their own accord.
Q. When will I find out who my coach is and when my practice is?
A. All coaches will email their team the week prior to the first practice. If you have not heard from your coach before the first week of practice, the week of May 4th, please contact the Youth & Adult Sports Program Director.
