About the Camp

Activities on our beautiful 61-acre campus, located on the shores of Lake Guntersville, include canoeing, mountain biking, horseback riding, high ropes team-building, ziplining, archery, boating, tubing, swimming, doing arts & crafts, acting out performances (drama), having socials, jumping on “The Blob” water trampoline, and much, much more.

We believe in the benefits of small group cabins, so we limit our summer cabin capacities to eight campers and two counselors. At YMCA Camp Cha-La-Kee, a healthcare professional is onsite 24 hours a day to administer first aid and dispense camper medication.

Summer Overnight Camp

Summer Overnight Camp at YMCA Camp Cha-La-Kee

6-night camp sessions build independence, self-confidence, and lifelong friendships. Our traditional sleep-away camp experience is for boys and girls ages 7-14. YMCA Camp Cha-La-Kee is a place where campers build independence, self-confidence, and respect for each other and the world around them. Campers are divided into small groups and housed in air-conditioned cabins with adult counselors, where they form lifelong friendships, experience new adventures, and explore the natural world. 2018 Overnight Camp Registration is now open.
