The Swimming Experts
To some, the YMCA is virtually synonymous with swimming—and for good reason. Since the first YMCA swimming bath opened in 1885, we’ve been a pioneer in swimming education. Today, the YMCA has literally taught millions of people to swim, and is the largest collective operator of swimming pools in the world.
The Heart of the Valley YMCA has instituted a new Life Vest Policy that will be in effect on Friday, June 10, 2016. All swimmers 11 years & under, regardless of age, will be required to take a swim test. If the swimmer is unable or unwilling to take the test, they will be considered a non-swimmer and a red armband will be issued. All non-swimmers must wear a life vest unless they are within arm’s reach of a parent or guardian in the pool at all times.
