Volunteer for the Y

photoDSC_7433_download_3Focusing on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, Y Volunteers give of their time to help individuals and families, men, women and children of all ages and from all walks of life obtain the resources and support they need to be healthy, confident, connected and secure.

Volunteers may choose to give of their time weekly, monthly or as often as you like.

YMCA Early Childhood Education Centers

  • Read to Preschoolers
  • Teach American Sign Language to children
  • Enrichment activities (chess, art, music, etc.) with children
  • Lead classes in art, music, dance, karaoke, scrapbooking, drama, etiquette and manners, Vacation Bible School activities, martial arts for children.

Southeast Family YMCA

  • Check in or greet guests at the Member Services Desk
  • Read to children in Afterschool care and Day Camp
  • Homework tutoring in Afterschool care
  • Enrichment activities (chess, art, music, dance, etc.) with Afterschool care and Day Camp children
  • Admin Champion! Filing, writing thank-you notes, organizing, taking care of clerical tasks
