Is the Y open?
Yes, the YMCA is currently open for fitness, group exercise, and swimming, with some restrictions.

You can also take your favorite group exercise classes online! We have live streaming classes from 250+ on-demand streaming workouts from gentle yoga to HIIT to groove. Find your next class or fitness challenge at https://www.ymcahuntsville.org/work-out-at-home/.

I do not want my membership fees to stop, I want to support the Y. What are you doing with the money?
Wow, thank you!! Your support will ensure that you have a part in serving our community's most vital and pressing needs. Currently, the Y is making child care available to essential workers including medical personnel and first responders because we anticipate that there will be a great need for this. We want for our medical professionals on the front lines to be able to do their jobs without having to worry if their children are in a safe space and cared for. We want our grocery store workers to be able to keep our community fed. We will be expanding services as they are needed to serve our community, but we also want to be able to provide wages to our staff who are working to provide child care.
What are you doing to keep members safe at the Y?
Thanks for reaching out and sharing your concerns, because we are concerned, too. We are working hard to make sure that our branch environments are as safe as possible for members and staff. We have implemented measures to limit the spread of COVID-19. In preparation for reopening, we have:
- Installed I Wave air purification technology on all or our HVAC units supplying air to our fitness centers
- Increased fresh, outside air flow into our fitness centers
- Increased the number of cleaning and disinfecting stations throughout our facilities
- Installed acrylic sneeze guards for member engagement stations
- Ordered state-of-the-art electrostatic foggers to disinfect our fitness equipment
- Begun replacing all of our manual paper towels, hand sanitizer and soap dispensers with touchless units
- Assigned additional staff for cleaning.
