We Can’t Wait to See You May 18

News | Heart of the Valley YMCA | May 10, 2020

We've missed you! It's been hard to be away from the people we care about, but thank you for doing your part to stay safe and stop the spread of coronavirus. We've been carefully planning to reopen our facilities on May 18, 2020 at 6 a.m. in the safest manner possible. The way we'll interact with each other will be a little different, but at the Y, you'll always be able to connect with people, improve your health and wellness and help strengthen our community.

Our reopening will happen in phases, and you can stay informed and know what to expect as you plan your visit to the Y by checking out our Welcome Back reopening guide. The safety of our members and our staff is our top priority.

When we reopen, our facilities will have restrictions as mandated by the ADPH on the number of people that can be in the building at one time as well as the number of individuals in each of our classes/programs. We have implemented a reservation system for scheduling your workout time,

The following branch facilities/services will be available in phase one:

  • Fitness Centers
  • Walking Tracks
  • Lap Swimming
  • Personal Training
  • The Workshop (Hogan Family YMCA for one-on-one training)
  • School-Age Essential Child Care
  • Virtual Group Exercise
  • All three YMCA Early Childhood Education Centers will also open.

Facilities/services that will not be available on May 18 include:

  • Gymnasiums (for basketball)
  • In-Person Group Exercise (including Spin)
  • Small Group Fitness, Child Watch
  • Whirlpools
  • Sauna/Steam Rooms
  • Locker Rooms and Lockers
  • Climbing Tree and Splash Pad (Hogan Family YMCA)
  • Open Swim/Swim Lessons
  • Coffee Service
  • Group Sitting Areas
  • Water Fountains
  • Vending Machines
  • Well-Blended smoothie shop (Hogan Family YMCA)

Because we want to reserve our capacity for members, Day Passes, Guest Passes, and honoring Nationwide YMCA Membership will be discontinued temporarily. We will be waiting for additional instructions from the ADPH and the CDC to determine what facilities and services will be permitted to open in phase two.

We ask for your patience and understanding as we navigate this unprecedented time of crisis. We are deeply grateful for your support, generosity, and commitment to the YMCA.

We’re so happy to welcome you back. Together, we’re a better us.
