After months of being cooped up in the house and maybe not exercising as we should, wouldn't it be great to be active, social and engage in a little friendly competition?
How about with shorter distances? And in the climate-controlled indoors?
That's the recipe for Mash, Splash, & Dash, the Southeast Family YMCA's annual indoor mini-triathlon. The popular event, featuring swim, run and cycle components, is coming up Feb. 27, 2021. Divisions for kids, adults, beginners, advanced athletes, teams and families will award medals and trophies to winners, and every registered participant will receive a souvenir T-shirt. Fees are $20 per individual or $15 per member of a team or family.
Start times will be staggered beginning at 7 a.m. Swimming will take place in the indoor pool, and any swim style is permitted. Children 7-12 will be required to pass a swim test prior to Feb. 27. Participants will complete the run segment on treadmills and the cycling segment on spin cycles at the Southeast Family YMCA.
