The American Red Cross Lifeguard course is designed to give participants the basic skills and knowledge needed to be lifeguards in pools and aquatic environments. This comprehensive course offers up to date information on how to guard, anticipate and prevent problems and to take action to help those in need. CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications are included. This course is a blended learning course with a combination of self-paced online learning (approx 7 hrs outside of classroom time and must be completed prior to the first day of class) and instructor-led skill sessions. A link to the blended learning will be emailed to the participant 7 days before the course start date. Participants must pass a swim test on the first day of class. If participant does not pass skills test, a 50% refund will be issued. All class dates must be attended.
Program runs from May 1, 2020 to May 3, 2020 at Southeast Family YMCA.
